Day 18 and Sunday Scribblings

Yes, I'm a day late again, dammit! Friends came to visit last night just as I was turning the computer on. By the time they left, I was too tired. So I wrote yesterday's poem this morning and will (hopefully!) write another one later today.

I’m listening
to the sunrise
as it explodes
on the forehead
of the house
across the street.

I hear cymbals
of ideas,
the heartbeat
of drums
tattooing need,
saxophones
of words
screaming
to be written.

The morning
composes
a symphony
of possibilities
and I sit
in the audience
clapping.

love the drumming, the tatooing, the explosion of energy in this - I bet you are a morning person like me!

Ah yes. I sit in the audience clapping too. Nothing like the symphony of morning. I sang your poem this morning. Thanks.

Oh dear no! I'm not a morning person. Head under the covers job!

"Explodes on the forehead of the house across the street." I love it! This is full of morning energy and intention.

Cacophonous! Pity that's such a negative word for most people.

From the first line (I am listening to the sunrise as it explodes), you've got me. I like the line arrangement, the energy, the layers of meaning, and the sense of morning with all its promise. Maybe it's easier to write poetry in the morning? May all the rest of April's poems come easily for you!

I think your poetry is VERY good and would really like it if you could read my poem for Writer's Island below my SS. I'm new to writing poetry and I'd love some constructive advice.

"the forehead of the house" was my favorite line and clapping at the end was like the cherry on top.

Thanks
