Day 23 NaPoWriMo

Write About a Time Someone Said No-April 1, 2008
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I say no
every time I get
too lazy
to take a walk

I say no
whenever my husband
goes to bed early
but I stay up reading

I say no every time I choose
to write a poem
instead of conversing

I say no
to some one else
every time I say
yes to me.

then i say no is a beautiful word... you owe it to yourself to say no when you feel like it....

A nice poem about a very common dilemma in life – setting boundaries and honoring one's own needs.

Can you teach me how to say no like you do?

How do you feel about list poems? Do you write in this form often? I remember a friend explaining the form to me and I confess I understood it less than I thought I did.

Well said. This something I struggle with. Just say NO.

We must take care of ourselves first or we will have nothing for others. So, I say go ahead and say NO. BJ
