This is for ReadWritePoem's Day 6 prompt. We were asked to write a poem in response to the following photograph by pensiero:
And You thought You Were In Charge
Hanging
marionettes.
Who is controlling them?
The hand of fate? I hear the clouds
smirking.

Marionettes? Brilliant interpretation!

I love syllabic verse. It's all very down-to-earth in an up-in-the-air sort of way until the synaesthesia at the end.
Double fun-not only are the clouds in on the joke, but you can HEAR them smirking. Neat and concise.
I really like this. The form is perfect for the image prompt.
I was not expecting the smirking. I would have never thought of marionettes, love that imagery.
Love the whole idea of marionettes...and the little bit of sarcasm in the title!!
Love the "hanging marionettes".
