NaPoWriMo #28: 3WW: Depart, Ignite, Rotten

Late Snow Ignites Dreams of Future

Woke up to six inches
of late April snow
covering all the baby
leaves and flowers.

Winter takes his time
to depart in this neck
of the woods. I grabbed
my camera and snapped

a couple pictures to take
with us to Florida
when we retire in another
year, to remind us of why

we don’t want to live up here
where the weather is rotten
most of the time. Then I put
my boots on, got the shovel

out, cleaned off my truck,
and made my way
to school. One day
closer to being done.

Hi Linda, I think I missed your poetry the most. I'm a bit rusty but I wrote a poem on spring snow. We actually retired to the snow. lol

Not a good time to have snow.

After a series of landscape images, the last line becomes an enigmatic soulful sigh! Interesting conclusion!

But I love snow...maybe because I have not seen any yet!

I wish to see and touch it with my bare hands someday soon!

Thanks for the hopeful poem on nature!

Yours,

Amity

What a wonderful, descriptive picture of your life in that moment of time. Lovely!

Oh man, there is something magical about the first snow but the magic wears off. Not a bit of it left come April. Snowing on baby flowers and leaves makes you want to slap it around a bit. Happy Florida!!
