I Come From for Sunday Scribblings

I Come From…

I come from words
like love
that jumped
from my dad’s eyes
to my mom’s,

and integrity
that was woven
into my character
the way
my mom pulls yarn
through her cross-stitch
projects.

I come from the garden
of kindness
and caring.

I come from words
like seeds
and grow
in the paragraphs
of life.

Lovely, the way you've written this
legacy of love and words. I too
come from these words. Thank you,
Linda.

You always nail it, in so few words. A beautiful love story that produced an amazing poet!

Wow, very beautiful tribute and explanation of why you are an English teacher in the last stanza. Thanks for your kind comments. I know that my writing is undisciplined and lacks polish. It means a lot that you would give me a passing grade.

Wow, you expressed so beautifully in a short poem what I couldn't verbalize in 1000 words.

Fabulous.

Well put. We all know that we are not made of cells and genes so much as we are made up of experiences and gardens. Loved it!

I do like this one - especially 'integrity ... woven into my character the way my mom pulls yarn through her cross-stitch projects'.

Very nice! I think my favorite is your description of integrity begin woven into your character the way your mom pulls yarn through her cross-stitch projects. Beautifully written.
