Sunday Scribblings for Nov. 11, 2007: Left and Right

Sunday Scribblings for November 11

Left and Right

---------------------------------

Leaving

Left foot
on the threshold

a rude wind
pushes the door
out of my hands

like my life
out of my grasp

like you
out of my will

You sit in your La Z Boy
watching me leave

knowing I’ll be back
knowing the wind
will be too strong

and my leash
too short

I fight
to close the door
then step
back inside
even though
I know it’s not right

rude wind - is just one of the terrific visuals in this wonderful poem. Great!

Wow - I just enacted this entire scene moments ago. You captured my emotions today just perfectly.

I like this take on "left" and "right" - very different, but perfectly appropriate.

Well done!
