Anaphora for TOP

I bought a book of poetry
because I was in a bookstore.

I bought a book of poetry
because it jumped off the shelf
and into my arms.

I bought a book of poetry
because poetry is the moon
to my sun.

I bought a book of poetry
because I needed shelter
from the winds of life.

I bought a book of poetry
because I was on vacation
and it was an inexpensive treat.

I bought a book of poetry
because, when I opened it,
I smelled a whiff of prayer.

Wow! Too good! Love the rhythm and the words are full of imagery. The final line is remarkable!

Some books just seem to find their own way to the reader.

Your closing are consistently powerful. Thanks.

You and your readers are invited to join us for Little Lov'n Monday. This week I'm giving away free books, too. I'll see if I can add a poetry book.

One of the great things about books of poetry: one can sip them.
