Unsavory for TOP

That Inconvenience

Roses
bloomed
in my stomach;

thorns
pierced
my uterus.

The red carpet
rolled out
for the stars

of my
agony. Two
children:

our oak tree, Nathan,
and his sister,
Erin, our Tuts,

I smiled
as I reached
into the tampon box.

Ugh! What a memory! But so cleverly told. Nice job.

Easy to say for me - but the ability to produce new life must be worth the pain.

Linda, this is wonderful. In birth all is forgotten except life and love.

Hi Linda, I read this poem several days ago and thought, how clever!

Did you get your students outside with cameras yet? You mentioned a 'thankfulness' project...
