3WW: delicate, night, jaded

Delicate Night Jaded

“Love is delicate”
she warned her jaded boyfriend.
He laughed in her face

turning lacy thoughts
into leather valentines
the night he left her.

Thanks for coming by and for the comments. The poem you created with the words is powerful. The image of the lacy thoughts turning into leather valentines is excellent. Thank you for sharing

Cad!

Nice blend of straight-forward description, and metaphor.

This was so sad to me. Aptly so, but still. I was reading a book the other day that had the phrase "Love is a contact sport of the heart and each time we come away a little more bruised than the last time." This reminds me of it.
