The Young Novice

Becomes
bored with praying
so she settles her hands
on the rising mound under her
habit.

Scandalous-- love the shape of the poem mirroring the growing belly.

HA! I thought of a nun's habit too - but didn't go that route - so happy that you did - because I seriously think this may be one of the better things I have read in a great big while!!! Its brilliant, mysteriously wicked - yet innocent and pure too! Clear concise, well- paced and absolutely BRILLiant - ooh wait did I say that already! I really love it- hope you can tell!
I would love to hear what you think of my post - its entitled Old Habits Die Hard, I know I kill Them

Wow, this is terrific. So much going on in her mind and her life. Bored with praying, indeed.
