Vacation Writing

Vacation Writing

The next few days
are a clean white board

that I can fill
any way I want.

I have an 8-pack
of colorful pens.

I have an eraser
for mistakes.

I have enthusiasm
and energy.

But, it’s a curious
thing: I can’t think

of a damn thing
to write. Oh, eventually,

the words will ribbon
out of the tips

and I’ll stand there
in a shower of inspiration

but right now
that white board

is blank and the pens
are snug in their holder.

And I’m going to have
a glass of wine.

Very nice, Linda!

Isn't it distressing when you have the time to write and you REALLY want to and the muse decides he or she needs a vacation? :)

Quite insufficient, really.

and when they rain,, may they bleed in color and exhaust your pens,, leaving nothing white....

The joys of writer's block, eh? I hope it passes soon.

I just want the clean white board. Screw the muse :)

You know- take the break, put up your feet, relax and empty the glass, have another, the muse will return and then you will be fighting for white space to fill up, here's wishing you a wonderful 2008, i have to catch up on your poems...missed quite a bit.
