Blowing the Curve
I should be in the cellar
separating lights
from darks
I should be in the kitchen
sizzling strips
of maple-flavored bacon
I should be in our bedroom
feeling his warm legs
next to mine
But, I’m sitting in the living room
in a bright bubble
surrounded by sun and blue sky
reading Artful Blogging
and sipping creativity
one glossy photo at a time.

Now you uniquely blew the curve .. on the other hand, I think I would prefer those warm legs. Enjoyed this Linda!
Amias and I must be in the same mood right now! But your poem does build anticipation as you choose your moments. I like so very much. The legs will be there when the reading is done!
Sounds good to me!
I really liked this. I always feel so inadequate every time i read those Stampington magazines. I have to avoid them.
I can see you.......so vivid!
Sounds good to me.
Good for you!
Blowing the curve, whatever curve it is, is what it's about...eccentricity is the goal!
Sweet--thanks!
guess there's a time for everything and time enough to do everything. here's to bubbles and good choices! and getting to those cozy warm legs again soon.
A place for everything, and everything in its place... eventually.
I have so many "should be's" in my life but so often I do what you do, follow my heart instead. The dirty laundry will still be there when you get back. Glad you fed your soul instead.
Good attitude! Love this poem...
Linda, I really like the should be repition.
And they say those warm legs will wait. Five will get you ten the owner of those legs will be up and clothed by the time the reading blogger decides to come to the bedroom.
I hope you put the coffee pot on. :)
..
Nice visual imagery for me on this one. Your poem depicts a day in the life well.
delicious!
LOVE this!!! And aren't a lot of our days made up of those darn "should be's"? Nicely put! Love Artful Blogger!
