NaPoWriMo Day 1: Metaphor

Insomnia

Sleep was a silky fish
eluding me last night.

I tried to catch it
with the net of my dreams

but it wiggled out of reach
through cloudy thoughts

then taunted me
with its wide-eyed stare.
