This is a dream I've had for forever.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A small Winnebago
chewing up miles
like Pacman
gobbling dots.
The whole United States
unraveling like a ribbon.
Me,
alone,
going where I want,
stopping when I want,
answering to no one.
Alone.
Someday.
I love big road trips! (but smaller vehicles)
ReplyDeleteThe road is long and diverse. Great thoughts in this.
ReplyDeleteNice, very nice. I missed the "Someday" line the first time round. It rings nicely, poignantly, achingly, off the "Alone" line. Bon giorno.
ReplyDeleteI think this is my favourite respnse to sunday scribblings!
ReplyDeletesomeday... over the rainbow! what a serene dream! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you see me with my thumb in the air by the roadside please pick me up!
ReplyDeleteMy kinda dream! Let's hope it happens.
ReplyDeleteThe Pacman imagery was vivid. I could see the car chomping!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written and a lovely pilgrimage dream. I hope it will an electric car, though.
ReplyDeleteOh, does this sound wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteSomeday is a good time. A lovely pilgrimage - there's much to see and feel.
ReplyDeleteI've taken some short road trips in recent years yet dream, like you, of the whole united states. So far I've only tasted going where and when I want and answering only to myself.
ReplyDeleteI may meet you along that road sometime! A lovely prospect, just travelling the roads, chomping up the dots!
ReplyDeleteHi, Linda - I hear you on this one. Actually went to check out the Airstream "Bambi" design. Wow, it's tiny but would be nice to pull around the country.
ReplyDeleteHusband and I got laughing, though. We could only stand back to back in there and turn in a circle.
sometimes, you just have to look at the accoutrements of a road trip, though. It's part of dreaming it and someday, doing it, right?
A Minnie Winnie, perhaps. this reminds me of the rhyme:
ReplyDeleteWhy pay rent on a concrete tent?
when you can drive a Winnebago!
Your dream speaks to many, and to me as well. For me, though, I'd like to travel by bicycle... or horse!
ReplyDeleteI hear you on this one!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this other Linda. What a worthy pilgrimage idea and I want to do the same one day, except here.
ReplyDeletewow! --- great for a bucket list idea - mine is to sell all i own and buy a harley and just hit the road - sad that it will likely never happen now --- but keeping my dream alive is great entertainment!!!
ReplyDeletegreat road trip! this kind of thing would be really brave for me. someday.
ReplyDeletethat has always been my dream.... little did i know that gas was going to become the issue of the day,, and the planet the favorite child......
ReplyDeletecontinue to follow the road less traveled....until next time-Teach
